I remember that! It was funny because to get ONE gold was an accomplishment.

Monsters used to drop a max of 5 gold if they were lvl 20.

Now people just shrug it off if it is 5 gold. It shows how the economy died. :/

Seems to me that higher level place do have higher amounts of gold and better items dropping (go back to old ascalon to compare .... LOL)

I like it the way it is, and for several reasons already mentioned above ....
